Whether you are a music buff or not, everyone has a certain set of songs that provoke a certain memory. You might not even be aware of it until that song comes on the radio and you remember that afternoon in the beer garden of summer 2015 .. you know the one I mean right? The right music can influence your whole mood, and it can certainly influence your summer! Here at Lemon HQ we have been reminiscing on our favourite music summer throwbacks and trying to figure out the next big tunes.
So I must admit I am a bit of secret garage fan. So when Herringbone Cocktail Club played their ‘Garage Club Sandwich’ full of 90s throwbacks from their musical cocktail menu at a wedding we recently worked at (see below) I was in my element. ‘Gotta get Thru This’ was stuck in my head for the following week, much to the dismay of the office! This is the power of music, the memories it provokes and those summer memories it brings back. The sunshine makes everything better and music has the power to do the same.
So what tracks do we think are going to be on 2019’s summer playlist? Well I am currently going through a massive ‘Catfish and the Bottlemen’ stage, and just can’t wait to see them perform at Citadel. Lucy is all about ‘Sam Fender’, so the office becomes a little musical cocktail within itself. We are so lucky here at Lemon to be working with the best musicians, I’ll even get a sneak peak of our Herringbone member playing with Matthew and the Atlas at Citadel in July and Lucy has just been to see The Spice Girls who are using some of our Diamond Boys as their backing band! We want to provide you with our own memories that you can look back on for Summers to come. So contact us today to book one of our performers for your event and give yourself that Summer Feeling.
Here at Lemon Entertainment we mostly book our bands and DJ’s into private events. This year however we have some public events coming up and we wanted to let you know about them so you can come and enjoy them with us!
In a few weeks we will be at The Big Little Fashion Show which is taking place at the stunning Hedsor House. The lovely organisers of the event contacted me looking for some live music with an edge, ideally female. I knew exactly who they needed. The totally epic Grace Savage. The Event is a one day festival in the beautiful English countryside, showcasing the best in UK independent fashion & beauty. The show will be an extravaganza of shopping, styling workshops, catwalk shows and a panel talk. Bringing together the best in brands, UK stylists and bloggers, in the luxurious surroundings of stately home splendour. A brilliant, stylish day out for any fashion lover. Tickets are available here.
Mid July we are heading to the glorious Cowdray with Dos Tiempos. They have been booked for the Cowdray Polo Gold Cup Party. More info and Tickets available soon.
August bank holiday weekend we will be at Hampton Court Palace with Herringbone Cocktail Club and Dos Tiempos at the Hampton Court Food Festival. Tickets available here. Dos Tiempos will be performing all three days and Herringbone Cocktail Club will be there on the Sunday and Monday. For full timings click here. The Festival is a great day out for all the family with a great selection of delicious artisan producers, the tastiest street food, a stellar line-up of cooks and chefs, fabulous entertainment, family fun and great live music. So you’ve booked the entertainment for your wedding or event, you’ll get to enjoy it the entire evening and you can’t wait. But what about when the night’s over and you’ll wake up the next morning and only have wobbly, dark distorted sound phone footage to watch back over. Our acts are the highest quality so your memories should be too. That’s why we’ve teamed up to offer the highest quality video team around who can record their performance and your evening to watch back over again and again. If you’ve watched the Lemon Entertainment ‘About Us’ video HERE you’ve already seen the high-end quality their filming produces.
Stuart and Dan have been filming events for over a decade, spent years in audio too and their entire lives being normal, regular guys who are great to have a beer with.
Outside of their work Dan spends his time outdoor cooking- smoking every meat he can in his outdoor smoker, brewing questionable- but still drinkable, home beers and ales complimented by also making the hottest of homemade hot sauces. Stuart plays for his local football team- we can’t decide whether we should tell you what team he actually supports here, ‘enjoys’ going to the gym just enough to be able to make up for his chocolate addiction and continually beating his dad at golf.
“We’re both people people-, that’s how we met, in central London, in person with no prior knowledge of each other. We love documenting events through film, we push to bring something different to the table each time that is unique to that event, venue or subject each time we shoot. We only know how to do things properly and right, there’s no point in being any other way when film and editing is involved. Our approach and equipment are geared around filming events to the highest standards, from the darkest smallest venues to the largest grandest halls and beyond we’re prepared for whatever your event can throw at us.”
Drop us a message to hear more about what Dan and Stu can offer you for your event.
At last, the sunshine has appeared again and it’s getting us very excited about the events we have coming up over the next 6 months. From Hampton Court Palace to Sorrento our bands are heading out to some stunning places over the summer and we can’t wait to share our adventures with you.

So, Valentines day is just around the corner and I have to admit, although I am loved up, the whole commercialism around Valentines day really annoys me. So I thought I’d be a little rebel and do a little ‘anti-valentines’ blog. I don’t want to be too negative about it, so my spin on this is going to simply be – great songs that aren’t romantic! I’ve chosen three of my favourites and have put together an awsome playlist which is full of non-romantic songs for you to enjoy!
My first song has to be by one of my favourite artists ever. Alanis Morissette. I went to see her live last year and it was one of the most memorable gigs of my life. What a legend. This tune is the ultimate break up song.
This track by The Black Keys is such a winner. The video makes me so happy too. Being a lonely boy doesn’t have to be lonely!
And lastly – a winner of a pop track from Katy Perry. For me this song is all about self love and bring proud of who you are. GO ON KATY. Romance doesn’t have to be with another person – just be your own firework!
